International Introduces Web Applications for ADMARC®
| July 14 '08 |
NWI has opened up
ADMARC® to the web, and we are creating various
web services and applications that will help you run your
business more efficiently. Users log in from anywhere via a
web browser to access these new services, which feature
popular ADMARC® functionality, extensions to
ADMARC®, and common web features, such as dynamic
sorting of lists and tables, copy/paste, and sending pages
via email.
Many web
applications are planned—the initial application, Agency
Self-Service, is already in development. We will soon be
inviting you to join in a Web-ex demo of this first
application, and look forward to having you take advantage
of this early opportunity to provide us input into this and
future applications. Web applications currently on the
drawing board include Enhanced Payment Processing, Sales
Quoting & Order Entry, and Advertiser Self-Service.
As you can see,
we envision providing applications that can be used by your
employees, by outsourced services (e.g. customer service
departments), as well as by your advertiser and agency
customers themselves. Eventually, complete ADMARC®
functionality, with extensions & improvements afforded
by the web-enabled architecture will be accessible.
Real &
Tangible Benefits
-
Easy
to use browser applications don’t require ADMARC®
training—all functions are intuitive and use simple
workflows that present only the information that is
valid and needed. New employees using the web
applications are up and running on ADMARC®
from day 1.
-
Nothing additional needs to be installed—making the
ADMARC® web applications cost-effective.
-
Self-service applications mean that, where you want them
to, Agencies and/or Advertisers can perform their own
routine tasks, saving the time of your expensive
in-house resources.
-
Multi-site publishing companies save money by
centralizing ADMARC® operations—all business
units access the system—branded for their
publication—via the web.

'The Morning Call' Goes Live with DISCUS | Feb 11 '08 |
Neasi-Weber International (NWI), the industry leader in circulation, advertising and preprint management systems, is pleased to announce that The Morning Call, Allentown, PA (a Tribune Company newspaper) has gone live with DISCUS. DISCUS is NWI's totally integrated customer service, single copy, newspapers in education (NIE) and distribution management circulation system. Their new DISCUS client/server circulation system was implemented on a SUN UNIX ORACLE operating platform. In addition, DISCUS is currently operational at a number of other Tribune newspapers, including, the Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Newsday, Newport News Daily Press and the Hartford Courant.
Michael Foux, Morning Call's Vice President of Circulation said, "Before I headed the circulation operation at The Morning Call, I was the company's CIO. I've had first-hand experience implementing major systems in every area of our business. This was the smoothest transition I have ever seen. This success can be attributed to three things: great support from our central team at Tribune, outstanding support from our vendor, Neasi-Weber, and a supreme effort and focus on the part of our local project team."
Michael Brier, President of NWI said, "The Morning Call now joins the ranks of other major newspapers such as The Atlanta Journal/Constitution, Milwaukee Journal / Sentinel, St. Louis Post/Dispatch, Seattle Times, News International (United Kingdom - publishers of The Times, The Sun & News of the World), The Torstar Group (publishers of the Toronto Star, Hamilton Spectator and Kitchener Record) and the New York Daily News along with other Tribune properties, which are deriving significant operational benefits from the use of our DISCUS System. NWI and Tribune have assembled a dedicated project team, comprised of members from both companies with specific circulation expertise, to meet The Morning Call's implementation schedule. Our organizations have long had a strong rapport, as most of Tribune properties have used both our DISCUS and ADMARC Systems for many years."
